It’s Duets Night! Whee! The opening production number this week is “Hand Jive”. This week’s guest judge is Jon Secada who played Danny in a Grease revival, so I guess he’s well-qualified.
First off, the “Bottom 4″…dun dun dun.
Jason and Kevin, Juliana and Kathleen will be in the singoff tonight.
Jason and Juliana received the fewest number of votes, but the panel could save them.
Kevin is saved and Jason goes home. Kathleen is saved and Juliana goes home.
Now on with the show!
Allie and Chad: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough
There is just something I don’t like about Allie. You already know of my love for Chad, so I’ll not go there again. The chemistry wasn’t really there for me and I did not like Allie’s vocals on this song. So, even though I enjoyed Chad, I didn’t enjoy him as much as in past weeks. Disappointed.
Laura and Austin: Don’t Know Much
There was some definite chemistry going on here and her outfit was slightly better than the last two weeks. I liked Austin’s vocals better than Laura’s and I still don’t like Laura all that much, but it was pleasant overall.
Ashley and Max: It Takes Two
I thought Max was a great leading man and Ashley was kind of boring as a leading lady and I also was not as into her vocals as I’ve been. On the other hand, I thought Max’s vocals were smokin’. As for the chemistry? I didn’t really see any.
Kate and Derek From this Moment On
Well, number one, this song sounded out of Derek’s range a bit and so his performance was not really up to par. And Kate has been my favorite from the first week, but this week I was totally bored with her performance unfortunately. They seemed uncomfortable with the song and a bit with each other.
Kathleen and Kevin: Something to Talk About
I thought they were cute with each other. The vocals were solid and the acting was okay.
Still and all, no one couple really blew my socks off. I think different pairings might have given different results. Because Danny and Sandi have to have chemistry after all!
Now am I the only one who wonders if they all didn’t know the outcome ahead of time? Because otherwise how could they have done duets if there was a possibility their duet partner was going home? Ya know?
Update: Go here for a Broadway review of this show.
That didn’t even occur to me!lol! I just thought how amazing it was that it worked out that way!lol!
Anyway, I have never liked Allie and she’s still not my favorite, but I thought she and Chad were HOT last night! And I loved Ashley and Max. I thought they were adorable and I totally saw chemistry with both groups.
Kate was boring, which broke my heart because she had been my favorite, but I think the song was hard as well. Not as playful.and Derek? He hit a few notes that made me cringe! I can’t stand Austin! Ugh! and there’s something about Laura that bugs me too!
