No spoilers to be found here this week.
It’s really interesting seeing the teams divided by race. For instance, the Asian-American team said that they were diverse within themselves because their roots were in different parts of Asia. The Hispanic team seemed to gel the quickest for whatever reason. Perhaps because of the huge importance of family and extended family in the Hispanic community? That’s just conjecture on my part, of course. It might just be because their personalities worked best with each other. To me, a Caucasian team doesn’t really have a “cultural” common ground other than being Americans. So as far as common ground, it would seem to me that the minority teams would have more of a starting point with that than the Caucasian team.
What was even more fascinating was seeing how the different teams treated each other with regard to age and gender since they were all of the same race. It was quite telling in some cases.
And finally, I have to say that the first person voted off gave some of the classiest parting comments I’ve heard in a long time.
So far, it’s turning out to be a very interesting social experiment. It’s certainly the most ethnically diverse Survivor ever. I look forward to seeing what happens next week.
I stopped being so obsessed with Survivor years ago, but it’s a habit I can’t give up LOL. But my daughter loves it now too, so there ya go ;)
