So You Think You Can Dance Week 5

It’s the Top 12 tonight and the last night for these couples to be couples…

Tonight’s Guest Judge: none other than the amazing Wade Robson himself.

Sabra and Dominic
Jive choreographed by Tony Meredith
I Do the Jerk: Ryan Shaw

Wow, how far has Dominic come since the first week’s Disco number? My gosh. This was so full of energy and life and fun and I loved it. And also Dominic didn’t drop her. That was a good thing. I’m going to really miss their partnership.

Jaimie and Hok
Broadway choreographed by Tyce DiOrio
Mr. Bojangles: Fosse (Original Cast)

This was such a lovely number, and it was really hard to know where to look. I’ll have to watch it a few times so I can watch both of them more fully. But, in the end, it was Hok that really kept my attention. Nice choreography for this pair. I actually think I will enjoy seeing them paired with other partners.

Sara and Pasha
Jazz choreographed by Mandy Moore
Body Language: Queen

Who knew they could pull this off? This was good schtuff! Never one of my favorite Queen songs, but I really enjoyed this number. I like Pasha and Sara together, and since they’ve only been partnered for 2 weeks, it’s too bad they won’t have time to build their partnership even more.

Lauren and Neil
Contemporary choreographed by Mia Michaels
Let the Drummer Kick: Citizen Cope

Hated the gloves. Hated the hats. Didn’t care for the glasses. The routine was mostly not enjoyable to me, although there were some cool parts. But then again, I don’t particularly care for them, so maybe that colors my opinion more than it should. I won’t mind seeing them with other people because then maybe I will like them more. Or at least Neil. Whatever.

Anya and Danny
Foxtrot choreographed by Jean-Marc Genereux
It Had to Be You: Brian Evans

Really the only two dances I’ve loved by them have been the ballroom dances. Not exactly sure why, but there it is. They were great tonight. What an awesome routine this was. Loved it. But I won’t mind them getting split up and having new partners to be honest.

Lacey and Kameron
Hip-Hop choreographed by Dan Karaty
Here I Come: Fergie

I really think Lacey can dance any style and pull it off. Silly, fun routine and it was nice to see Kameron get a little highlight spot of his own, but this was not one of my favorite dances they’ve done. I will, however, miss their partnership!

My favorites tonight were Sabra & Dominic and Anya & Danny.

Destined for the bottom are probably Lauren & Neil (because of the routine, not their dancing) and Jaimie & Hok (because I don’t think it was quite up to par of the others).
