Last week’s scores will be added to this week’s scores and then someone (and most likely not the one that deserves it because that’s the way it always works) will be going home tomorrow night
Apolo and Julianne
Quickstep
Apolo’s biggest drawback is that he is used to being hunched over all the time as a skater and ballroom requires a VERY upright posture, so getting past that issue is his big challenge in this dance. And personally, though I’m no expert, I think he ddi a pretty good job framing his partner. They are really cute together and fun to watch.
Judges scores: 8 + 9 + 9 = 26
My score: 8
Two week total: 47
Shandi and Brian
Mambo
Shandi was just smiling a little too much for me to believe in the whole sexpot thing, but I think they did a decent job. It’s tough for her because she is so tall and taller than her partner, but I liked them better than last week.
Judges scores: 6 + 7 + 7 = 20
My score: 7
Two week total: 39
Clyde and Elena
Quickstep
Actually, I think footwork-wise, this is probably the best dance for Clyde because of his basketball skills. He definitely can fill the dance floor with his size. Not bad!
Judges scores: 6 + 6 + 6 = 18
My score: 6
Two-week total: 34
Leeza & Tony
Mambo
Wow! Look at Leeza (who just turned 50 by the way) doing a split. I think this was much better than last week - she really looked like she was having fun.
Judges scores: 7 + 7 + 7 = 21
My score: 6
Two-week total: 36
Ian and Cheryl
Quickstep
What can I say? A great dance - it had speed, it has fun, it had technique (in my eyes at least). It was solid.
Judges scores: 7 + 8 + 7 = 22
My score: 8
Two-week total: 43
Paulina and Alec
Mambo
My favorite thing about this whole dance was Paulina’s dress. It was just so bouncy and fun! Oh, and the dance was cool, too, if a little bit stiff for a Mambo. ;)
Judges scores: 7 + 7 + 7 = 21
My score: 7
Two-week total: 40
Billy Ray and Karina
Quickstep
Well. He tried. I’ll give him that. But Billy Ray was not really cut out for ballroom dancing I’m thinkin’. But, the jacket was kinda stylin’.
Judges scores: 7 + 7 + 7 = 21
My score: 5
Two-week total: 34
Heather and Jonathan
Mambo
I’m always so nervous for Heather, but I probably shouldn’t be. She has a superb partner and she is a brave lady. This was one of my favorite dances of the night.
Judges scores: 8 + 8 + 8 = 24
My score: 8
Two-week total: 42
John and Edyta
Quickstep
John is just so darn charming. I love to watch them. They may not be perfect, but the man is obviously having a blast.
Judges scores: 7 + 7 + 7 = 21
My score: 7
Two-week total: 38
Laila and Maksim
Mambo
Wowza. Laila is hot hot hot! Best performance of the night so far!
Judges scores: 9 + 9 + 9 = 27
My score: 9
Two-week total: 50
Joey and Kym
Quickstep
I love Joey’s whimsey in the costumes and how he sells the dance. Joey and Laila are definitely the leaders of the pack this season. Awesome.
