So Sara Evans has dropped out of the competition and if you don’t know why, then you don’t spend much time reading entertainment news, because it’s been all over the internet. Suffice it to say that her husband is apparently a big jerk, she has filed for divorce, and she feels like she needs to be with her kids. This is understandable. But I think they should have brought back Willa to take her place. No such luck. We’re down to five couples.

Mario and Karina dancing the Mambo
This was a fabulous Mambo, but Mario still has a little too much sharpness in some of his moves and this dance needs to be a little more fluid. Mario is great, but he needs more fluidity. My score: 9 Judges scores: 9 + 9 + 10 = 28

Monique and Louis dancing the Samba
Those little things hanging off her dress were very distracting. The whole “I want to do a solo” thing was also kind of not to my liking. The solo was okay, but it’s a partner dance, so I didn’t really get the point of it. I thought their Samba was fun and energetic, but the judges were not feeling it and said it wasn’t much of a Samba. My score: 8 Judges scores: 9 + 7 + 7 = 23

Joey and Edyta dancing the Rumba
Edyta’s costume was NOT working for me. It looked like half a toga. But I thought they did a pretty decent job on their Rumba considering they had the giggles when they were rehearsing. My score: 8 Judges scores: 8 + 8 + 8 = 24

Emmitt and Cheryl dancing the Jive
Big bad Emmitt wearing a pink shirt and spats huh? Well, it wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great either. And I think Emmitt could really get this dance down given a little more rehearsal. My score: 8 Judges scores: 8 + 8 + 9 = 25

Jerry and Kym dancing the Paso Doble
Hmm. Well, they tried to go the comedy route again which was very successful last week, but just didn’t work with the Paso Doble this week. I do have to hand it to Kym, though. She works very well with what she has. Still, this just didn’t cut it for me. Especially with the opera song for accompaniment. My score: 6 Judges scores: 7 + 6 + 5 = 18
