Two dances again this week. And they’re allowed to do one lift. Who will rise and who will fall?

Ballroom Round:

Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas

Dance: Quickstep

Music: Awesome

Wardrobe: Beautiful

Performance: It was fast and entertaining and a lot of fun to watch. And Len better like it. So there.

Judges: Len said he had been fed up all day but that cheered him up and that is was fabulous. Bruno said it had great detail. Carrie Ann said they were a little out of sync in the middle but that they were still fantastic.

Judges Scores: 9 + 10 + 10 = 29

My Score: 10

Mario and Karina Smirnoff

Dance: Viennese Waltz

Music: It was a good song, but it started a bit slowly.

Wardrobe: Very pretty

Performance: I thought this was a lovely performance. The choreography was beautiful, the chemistry between them was phenomenal. Just a very enjoyable performance.

Judges: Bruno called him “Prince Mario”, all polish and distinction. Carrie Ann said it was much more elegant. Len said that it was the most elegant he has seen Mario dance.

Judges Scores: 9 + 9 + 9 = 27

My Score: 9

Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony Dovolani

Dance: Foxtrot

Music: Great music, but not sure if it fit the dance.

Wardrobe: She looked good for a change!

Performance: I thought it was a pretty good performance, but it didn’t seem like there was a lot of content to me. Not my favorite.

Judges: Carrie Ann said she brought the most joy onto the floor so far tonight. Len said she has great posture. Bruno said she is always bold and brassy.

Judges Scores: 9 + 8 + 8 = 25

My Score: 8

Jason Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska

Dance: Tango

Music: Pretty awful.

Wardrobe: Well Jason looked good. Edyta looked like Edyta - not much.

Performance: Something seemed awkward about this dance. I’m not sure if it was the music or the fact that Jason was glaring the whole time, or the actual dancing, but something seemed just a little off to me.

Judges: Len said it was a tad too much like an Argentine Tango. Bruno said it was poetry in motion. Carrie Ann said they brought a whole new dynamic and intriguingly great.

Judges Scores: 10 + 9 + 10 = 29

My Score: 8

Cristian de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke

Dance: Tango

Music: Not really that great, but Cheryl made it work

Wardrobe: Not bad, but not as dark and dramatic as I like to see for the Tango

Performance: I thought Cheryl did a great job choreographing for Cristian’s injury. They even did a lift and it was an enjoyable performance.

Judges: Bruno said it was very good and exactly what a Tango should be. Carrie Ann saw nothing at all wrong with it. Len said great job with the choreography.

Judges Scores: 10 + 9 + 9 = 28

My Score: 9

Latin Round:

Kristi and Mark

Dance: Samba

Music: Good music

Wardrobe: Kristi looked like a ball of sunshine, but the headpiece was a little much.

Performance: It was amazing. Some of those spins were unlike anything I’ve seen any star ever do. Beautiful, beautiful spins.

Judges: Carrie Ann didn’t care for it and thought it was a bit awkward and a little bit out of control. Len said it had great speed and energy but it lost a little bit of the rhythm of the dance. Bruno said she was spinning beautifully and that she always takes the biggest technical challenges.

Judges Scores: 8 + 9 + 9 = 26

My Score: 9

Mario and Karina

Dance: Jive

Music: Good music

Wardrobe: Cute outfits

Performance: It felt a little slow to me and didn’t have the bounce that I like to see in the jive. And there were a few little mistakes - nothing major, just a few little details that weren’t there.

Judges: Len said it had a roughness about it. Bruno said that it was the spirit of rock and roll. Carrie Ann said it completely worked.

Judges Scores: 9 + 8 + 9 = 26

My Score: 8

Marissa and Tony

Dance: Mambo

Music: Good music

Wardrobe: Probably her best costume yet.

Performance: It was good, not great. There was content, but I just don’t think the dance really suited her. Maybe it was the choreography. Maybe it’s just the character of the dance, but it wasn’t her best dance. Not her worst either!

Judges: Bruno said he wants more of the sexy and that it was really nice. Carrie Ann said she loves the way she goes for it. Len said she really came out and performed but that it was a little dainty and careful and not raunchy enough.

Judges Scores: 8 + 8 + 9 = 25

My Score: 8

Jason and Edyta

Dance: Samba

Music: A little slow and boring for my taste.

Wardrobe: Not bad. Edyta had very little wardrobe of course. I think she’s into conservation and/or using leftovers. ;)

Performance: The lift was pretty sensational, if not a bit scary. The dance itself was a little careful and boring for me.

Judges: Carrie Ann said his head was down and his musicality felt like it was lagging. Len said it was all right and he looked uncomfortable. Bruno said he wasn’t on top of it.

Judges Scores: 8 + 7 + 8 = 23

My Score: 8

Cristian and Cheryl

Dance: Mambo

Music: Great music

Wardrobe: Bright fun costumes, and I loved the bedazzled arm brace.

Performance: Again, Cheryl did a magnificent job with the choreography. This was a fun lively dance and it didn’t suffer at all from the fact that Cristian only had one arm.

Judges: Len said it was full of energy and it was a fabulous job. Bruno said it was magic and it had more energy than a volcano in the Andes. Carrie Ann said they were definitely on fire.

Judges Scores: 10 + 9 + 10 = 29

I think it’s probably Marissa’s time to go. As to who will join her in the bottom 2? I think it will be Jason or Mario. I hope that it’s not Kristi. And I’m pretty positive it won’t be Cristian.
