This week:

Jai duets with Taylor Dayne. Wow! Is she still around? On competition night, the judges were not as impressed with him as they have been. I thought he did a good job, actually. Jai is SAFE this week.

Carly duets with Jesse McCartney. Or should I say swoons over Jesse McCartney. Marie tells her that her vocals are getting better, but her body needs to relax and loosen up. I would say that yes her vocals ARE getting better, but they’re not up to the level as some of the other stars. And Marie is right about loosening up. Carly is in the Bottom Three again.

Cheech duets with Aaron Neville. I’ve actually never been a big Aaron Neville fan and I don’t think age has treated him as well as some other singers. But I do have to say that both sounded better on the Results show than they did on the Competition show. But still, Cheech would be my pick to go home based on yesterday’s performance. Cheech is again in the Bottom Three.

Alfonso duets with Deniece Williams. I thought they sounded great last night and I think they sounded even better tonight. And considering Alfonso said he had never sung harmony before, he did a spectacular job with it. Alfonso is SAFE.

Lucy duets with Dionne Warwick. Marie said she was tentative last night, but I actually thought she sounded great. Dionne still sounds amazing. Lucy is SAFE and her amazing legion of fans made her the top votegetter this week.

Hal duets with Dennis DeYoung. Dennis is Mike’s idol. Styx is his favorite band EVAH. And Dennis is who he modeled a lot of his keyboard playing after. And even though Dennis is LOOKING old, he still sounds amazing. I thought they made a terrific team and it was really interesting to hear Dennis singing Tommy Shaw’s harmony on Come Sail Away last night. Tonight they had a lot of fun with a goofy song - Mr. Roboto. I really enjoyed them! Hal is in the Bottom Three.

So the Bottom Three is: Cheech, Carly and Hal.

Cheech is SAFE. A bit surprised about that one.

Carly and Hal are left. I will be sad if it’s Hal. I enjoy him a lot. Carly has potential, but it’s not there yet.

And Carly goes home. Hal is safe.

One more thing before I end this post. Wayne Brady, I need to talk to you. Wayne, Wayne, Wayne. Give Dmitry back his dancing pants because you look freakin’ ridiculous in them.
