I don’t even know half the names of the people on Survivor this season, but that’s not even why it blows right now.

Right now, it blows because they kept that idiot Rocky over the sweet Anthony. Rocky is a bully of the worst order and Anthony is a gentleman and a geek, both things I like in a man. ;) But, ugh. Those other boys on the new Ravu screwed up. Now they will have to deal with Rocky AND Lisi. I think I might have to watch next week’s episode with the sound off. Bleh.

Since then, there have been awesome seasons, and not so awesome seasons, but still you found someone you cared about or at least someone you rooted against.

There have been great twists, game-changing twists, stupid twists, and non-issue twists, but this season’s twist has helped to make it, in my opinion, the most boring and worst season ever.

The twist this season is the “haves” and “have nots”. Burnett has tried this with Apprentice, as well. Why he decided to have two shows doing it at the same time I will never know, but it hasn’t really worked to make anything interesting on either show, rather, it has made things more predictable and boring.

Especially on Survivor, the “haves” have won EVERY SINGLE challenge to date. Oh yeah, that’s exciting and compelling television.

But even more than that, the reason this season is boring and bad is that there are no characters to get passionate about. Every season really needs either a character you love to root for or a character you hate and root against.

This season there are no standout characters. We’re well into the show now and I can maybe tell you the names of three people that are left on the island, and two of them only because they’re annoying.

There is absolutely no one I care about. There’s no one I dislike intensely. There’s just no one who has really stood out for any other reason than being slightly stupid obnoxious.

So, the bottom line is, I just. do. not. care. one way or the other who wins or who loses. I don’t even like one team more than the other, although I keep rooting for the have nots to win just to change it up a little. Last week, the editing made it seem they were actually going to win, but yet again, they lost by a hair.

I’m still watching, but only because the dvr records it for me automatically. It’s not even on this week due to March Madness, and I won’t miss it one iota. There have been seasons that caused me to be miserable if I missed an episode. Even Mike doesn’t care that I accidentally erased the episode before last because it’s so boring all you need is a two or three sentence recap to get you up to date.

So, the bottom line here is that the casting was horrible and the twist made the horrible casting stand out even more. All I have to say is, if next season isn’t better, I won’t be watching and I bet a lot of other people won’t be watching either.

And who knows? One bad cast might sink the Survivor juggernaut.

Grey’s Anatomy: Bad writing. I had it all figured out last week - how they were going to “bring Meredith back from the dead”. Unless this episode has some great and lasting impact on the characters, it was pretty much a waste of time to make it last three episodes, and really. If I can figure out what they were going to do, it’s not Grey’s Anatomy. Grey’s Anatomy usually surprises me, but this? Not so much. Way more than one sentence. Sorry.

Scrubs: J.D. asking out the physical therapist was the most pathetically funny invitation to go on a date I think i’ve ever heard.

30 Rock: Best line (from the agent regarding contract negotiations): “Let’s skip the foreplay, go right to the penetraysh”

ER: Kind of a blah episode for me which is a bummer since we will not have a new episode until April. Hmph.

Survivor: I hate when the person who got voted off has no humility. Best line of the night was from Earl after he killed the snake: “Snakes are misunderstood, but we have an understanding now.”

Grey’s Anatomy: Meredith is not dead. I mean how can you kill off the title character? But we’ll find out next week for sure, won’t we? Izzy is a hero. Even Sloane has a heart. But what I’m really interested in is the pregnant woman’s story. Looking forward to the end of that one.

Scrubs: Two words: Bedpan Race. ‘Nuff said.

30 Rock: All I can say is: Tina Fey makes me laugh and Alec Baldwin just might deserve an Emmy.

ER: Abby and Kovacs are engaged. It’s about time.

Survivor: This looks to be a promising season, but we shall see.

Grey’s Anatomy: Izzy’s line - “Holy mother of…” sort of sums up the whole episode.

Scrubs: Very well-done episode, but J.D.’s (ex)girlfriend needs to be slapped.

30 Rock: Best line: “My vagina is a convenience store - clean and reliable, and closed on Christmas.”

ER: A nice solid episode - nothing spectacular, but a good follow-up to last week’s very intense story.

My favorite survivor ever: Yul.

And seriously, maybe the best player to ever play the game. He was certainly a worthy winner. I love that the Aitu four stayed true to each other to the end. I love that they made the last challenge a tie so that it was decided by the competitors themselves and not by a vote. I love that the jury didn’t seem to hate them, but respected them, and I love that the two men who it came down to were good guys.

This was maybe my favorite season ever and certainly one of my favorite outcomes!

Ugly Betty: I love this show and this may have been my favorite episode so far. All of the actors in this show are amazing, but tonight Eric Mabius as Daniel Meade really stood out.

Grey’s Anatomy: Wow. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out, but I loved the ending. It’s good to see Derek and Mer happy for a change.

ER: Really awesome to see Abby get her own “very special ER” story; wondering what’s going to happen with Neela and Gates; and just an all-around good episode.

I remember back in the good old days of Must See TV when I’d watch NBC all night long on Thursdays from Friends all the way through to ER. Admittedly, I’m not watching only NBC, but Thursdays are definitely Must See TV night again!
