Even though I’m a spoiler fanatic, I’m trying my best not to read these because Lost it the one show that I actually prefer to be surprised when I watch. Hopefully, I can be strong…lol!

Well, she’s an accomplice to murder. That’s who she is.

I spy…Boone and Shannon! Long time, no see.

Hurley: Whoa.
Sawyer: I’m guessing that’s Paolo.

Two dead bodies in the first 15 minutes. Not bad.

A new type of flashback - flashbacks to the first few days after the plane crashed. So we can actually find out “who the hell Nikki is”, or was, as the case may be.

Hmmm, why did Nikki and Paolo have a walkie talkie, and why didn’t anyone ever notice it before?

Do you just love Sawyer, Hurley and Charlie as detectives? How cute are they? I think when Lost is over and they are all rescued they should spin off and have their own detective agency.

Could they maybe close their dead staring empty eyes already??? It’s creeping me out.

So, Paolo doesn’t want to swim to the bottom of the lake, but he’ll go down in the hatch by himself. Interesting.

And he knew ahead of time that they were going to grab Jack, Kate and Sawyer? But didn’t say anything? Huh.

And Charlie owns up to Sun that he was the one that took her and made it look like the Others. Charlies is redeeming himself. Possibly because he’s going to die? I hope not. I love Charlie, flaws and all.

Well, Nikki, I think one thing is for sure in this case. Diamonds are not a girl’s best friend!

And Paolo? Smoking is a nasty, dirty habit. And it might just get you killed.

Shirtless Sawyer. That makes everything worthwhile doesn’t it?

They’re not really dead? Just paralyzed. Oh. my. gosh.

But we got an answer! A real answer! To how Locke ended up in the wheelchair. And that was a doozie for sure.

But now the bigger question is how did his father get on the island? And is he really his father in the first place?

And WHY does my dvr always cut off in the middle of the previews for the next episode. UGH!

I just don’t even know where to begin. So let’s begin with the big revelation (which, if you read internet spoilers at all, you already knew) that Jack and Claire are half-siblings. Does it seem to you like Jack’s father is connected to a heck of a lot of the people on that airplane. Does that mean anything? We will have to wait and see. How did you like the Goth Claire, by the way? I think it works for her, but I like the blonde Claire better.

Then, of course, there was Desmond saving Charlie from death once again, and Claire finding out about Desmond’s prognostication ability.

There were Kate, Sayid, and Locke finding the freaky ass security system and Locke “sacrificing” Mikhail to see what was up (or did he?) and Kate being brave and going over first. And then there was Jack playing catch with the Others like they were at a family reunion picnic. What the HELL was up with that?

Next week, we finally find out why Locke is/was paralyzed. Looking forward that that one!

The good stuff:

• Love Charlie and Claire’s relationship right now. So sweet and cuddly.
• I also love that there are so many people from different countries on the island. It’s not all about the Americans.
• I just love me some Desmond.

The bad stuff:

• Need more Sun and Jin soon!
• Locke is creeping me out a bit. What the heck is up with him?
• While the death was pretty cool if you like that sort of thing, I don’t like that sort of thing and blood squirting out of ears and foaming at the mouth is not cool to me. It’s gross.

Questions:

• What is up with Jack?
• When (and how) will he and Claire find out they are related?
• What significance (if any) does the book Sawyer was reading have?
• Why did Locke do what he did and what does he (seemingly) have against Ben?
• What is this “list” that Kate and Sayid are not on and why is it significant?
• Why does Christian Shepherd keep popping up in everyone’s flashbacks?
• And finally, did those stupid promos for Dancing with the Stars at the bottom of the tv screen annoy, distract, and otherwise irritate anyone else besides me?

I kind of agreed with Danielle that they should just shoot the guy since they had the map, but the thing about Sayid is that he is full of honor, even though he had to do things that I’m sure haunt him, as was shown in his flashback. He was shown mercy and he learned so much from the woman who showed him that mercy. I thought it was an incredibly moving piece of acting, but I’m fearful that since Sayid looks as if he has reached the point of redemption, he might be killed off. Doesn’t that seem to happen to all the characters? Once their storyline shows them working through their demons, they die? That would be a shame in this case, though, since Naveen Andrews is an amazing actor - probably the best actor on the show if you ask me.

But it was quite the interesting ending was it not?

My favorite parts:

• The rapid-fire dialogue between the Russian and the other as well as between Kate, Locke and Sayid. The editing there was amazing, and I don’t normally notice stuff like that.
• The revelation that Hurley is a ping pong wizard and took Sawyer down.
• Hurley bringing “stuff” to Sawyer after he lost the match because he knows that he is someone who needs to have things around him.
• Jin and Sun coming up with payoff if Sawyer lost the ping pong match - i.e. no nicknames for a week. Loved it!

And finally, what about the cat on the island? Is it the same cat that was in Sayid’s flashback? And if so, how can that be?

The good parts:

• The quest to make the VW run;
• The return of Kate and Sawyer to the fold;
• Finding out Sawyer is a closet Little House on the Prairie fan;
• Kate going to find Danielle and teling her about her daughter.

The not so good part:

• Though I like Cheech Marin, I think he is too well-known to play a character in the Lost universe. It was kind of jarring to see him as Hurley’s father.

This episode didn’t really seem to do much to further the story/mystery. I can’t think of any questions that were answered, other than getting some more information about Hurley’s windfall and the return of Vincent (who looks mighty well-fed to be wandering the island aimlessly ya know?). However, it was good to see the reunion of Kate and Sawyer with the rest of the gang. And it was good to see Kate determined to rescue Jack. It was also good to see Danielle again, and I’m looking forward to how all of that is going to play out.

And what about the Jack/Juliet thing? Was she speaking the truth or were the cards she had written on speaking the truth? And will Jack go against his hippocratic oath to get off the island and possibly save his friends?

One more episode and then it’s gone until FEBRUARY. I imagine there will be a MAJOR cliffhanger next week, so hold on to your remote controls!

Blonde chick. Who is she? Is she Desmond’s g/f? Or is it Jack’s wife?

Lost always starts the season in some totally bizarre way.

Earthquake? It almost seems like when the button wasn’t pushed. Hmmm…

Jack Flashback this week!

Spying on a blonde flirting with a guy.

Now the present and Jack is in a cell of some kind and had a bandage on his arm. And there’s some kind of glass blocking his way out.

Kate wakes up to running water and is told to take a “nice hot shower” also with a bandage on her arm.

Now to Sawyer who is in some kind of cage outside a building. He sees someone else in a cage - a young man who won’t talk to him. At first.

Back to Jack and the blonde walks in on the other side of the glass. Her name is Juliet.

Jack flashback: he and his wife are getting a divorce.

Back to Juliet who thinks Jack is stubborn. Duh.

Kate gets out of the shower. Her clothes are gone and there’s a dress in their place. She is taken by four men to see…

None other than Henry Gale who has a pseudo-romantic meal set up for her. Whatever THAT is all about. He has her put on handcuffs.

Kate is full of questions. Why why why?

He threatens her with a promise that the next two weeks are going to be “very unpleasant”. Why two weeks? Why not two days? Or two months?

Jack flashback: Trying to track down “the other man”.

Juliet brings him food and water. She tells him he can trust her. Famous last words.

Then Sawyer’s neighbor escapes, lets him out and tells him to run “that way”. He is confronted by the lovely Juliet who shoots him with something non-lethal.

Back to Jack and Juliet is offering him more food because the drugs they gave them have the side effect of dehydration.

Jack finally does what she asks him to do in order to get food.

Jack flashback: he suspects his own father is the “other man” and attacks him at an AA meeting.

Instead of playing nicely, Jack attacks Juliet when she brings him food. And in walks Henry Gale himself. Jack threatens to kill her. Henry Gale runs out when Jack starts opening “the door”.

Tons of water rush in and she helps him get the door closed. Oh and then she punches him out. First she fells Sawyer. Then Jack. She’s making me a little angry now.

Sawyer tries to get food and then Kate is brought to the other cage.

Jack finally comes to and deduces they are underwater.

Juliet says, “It doesn’t matter who we were. It only matters who we are.”

She has a copy of Jack’s father’s autopsy report. How did they get that? Hmmmm…. She also has a file with everything about his life in it. And how did they get THAT?

Jack flashback: He ends up in jail and wife posts bail. His father was not the other man. He was just trying to help Jack.

Juliet says she’ll tell him whatever he wants to know about his ex-wife. He asks if she is happy and she says yes she is. Very happy. She offers again to bring him food and water if he behaves.

Henry Gale shows up and tells her, “good work”.

She says, “Thank you Ben.”

Ben huh? He doesn’t look like a Ben.

So, I think it was quite interesting to note that there are other Others. That they’re not as primitive as they made themselve out to be. And that they know everything about everyone. Interesting.

It was also interesting that the episode only focused on Sawyer, Jack and Kate.

So all in all, not a bad start to the new season. Are the Others really bad? Or are they maybe good? And how do they get all this information?
