First, Amazing Race…

While I was rooting for Ron and Christina (look! I learned their names last night!), I think they won a much greater prize than a million dollars, so I’m happy for them that they made it to the final 3. Same sort of goes for Nick and Don. I really enjoyed them, and it’s too bad they made the mistake they did with the equipment bag, effectively eliminating them from the win. But, all that being said, I’m happy for TK and Rachel. They were kind to each other, Rachel kept her wits about her in that last crazy difficult challenge, and they seem like a nice couple.

I would have been happy no matter who won, but I’m happy for all three of them: TK and Rachel for winning; Nick and Don for Don being the oldest to ever finish in the top 3; and Ron and Christina for the growth in their relationship. A man who can change for the better is a strong man indeed.

On to The Apprentice…

I know some people are not liking this season and it’s been said the show has officially “jumped the shark”, but I LOVE this season. The last couple of seasons I was to the point of not really wanting to watch the show anymore. It had become stale and boring. But this season is so. much. fun! Using celebrities was a stroke of genius. They understand entertainment. They understand that they have to fill “a role”. And they are doing it. You’ve got Piers and Omarosa as the antagonizers. You’ve got Gene Simmons (more on him in a moment) as the egotistical chauvinist. You’ve got strong bitchy women and sweet angelic women (yay Jennie Finch!). You’ve got the wild crazy guy (Stephen Baldwin). And more importantly, you’ve got lots of money going to good charities. I’m loving it.

As for Gene Simmons? He was definitely an egotistical jerk at times. And he has really bad hair. I didn’t think anyone’s hair could be worse than the Donald’s. But wow.

I was sorry to see Gene go, and I think Trump was, too. Donald tried to get him to bring in the right women so he wouldn’t have to fire him, but Gene would have none of it, and so we lost one of the most entertaining contestants of the season. Had this been a non-celebrity Apprentice and there been a character like Simmons, I’d have been rooting for him to get tossed every week. But in this situation? I’ll miss the entertainment factor.
