I have sort of a love/hate relationship with America’s Got Talent. On the one hand, it’s fascinating to see some of the acts that grace (or not) the stage. On the other hand, it irritates me that two of the judges for America’s Got Talent are British. Does Britain’s Got Talent have an American judge? Uh, no. But whatever.

Last night, two of the acts got me teary-eyed. The little 4 year old singing “Somewhere Out There” was just too precious. And she could sing! And hit all the notes! And remember all the words! And be totally adorable! But the one that really moved me was the opera-singing insurance salesman. Not only did he sing my very favorite aria ever (Nessun Dorma), he sang it beautifully. It gave me goosebumps. Just wow. You don’t see something like that every day. I’m not exactly sure how next week can top this week, but we shall see!
