Well, talk about stunning results…

I really am stunned. Of all the scenarios, this one was the one I thought the least likely, but there always has to be a shocking exit and there really hadn’t been one yet this season.

I didn’t get to watch the show live, so I fast forwarded through most of it so I wouldn’t have the results spoiled for me, and unfortunately the end was cut off so I didn’t get to hear what Simon said, but the bottom line is that Melinda is going home. So. totally. stunned.

However, I would have been sad no matter who went home this week. Three very awesome people and all good in their own way. The good thing, though, is that my daughter’s two favorite people are left in the competition. I guess she knows how to pick them!

Next week, it’s Jordin and Blake in the finale. I can’t wait.

As for Melinda? I think we will be hearing a lot from Miss Doolittle. She took her ouster in stride, although I think all three of them were really prepared to go home. And as much as Blake and Jordin were thrilled to sing another week, I think they were also very sad to see the one they all called “Mama” leave. What a classy lady.
