In my opinion, they did the contestants a disservice by having a theme week this early in the competition. They really needed a week (or two) to establish themselves in their own style before they were forced to sing songs that didn’t necessarily suit them. But they did and four people have to leave tonight. Will they be the ones who deserve to go or not? Does anyone really deserve to go the first week?

They start off with a group 60s medley. I actually enjoy this part of the results show, but I know some people don’t. Or I should say I usually do. Those were really weird songs they chose. Ah well. Moving on…

Results for the guys first…

Garrett is…going home.

Wow that was short and sweet. I don’t think there’s been a result given that fast in the history of reality shows. Nice guy, though, and I wish he’d had a better chance to show what he can do. But he’s young and he has many years ahead of him to get better and better.

Girls turn now…

Kristy is…safe.
Amy is…going home.

She had a bad night, a bad performance, and so this is probably the right decision. But as I said before, it’s too bad they didn’t get a chance to show who they really were. It all comes down to song choice as usual.

I’m really disappointed. I really loved her voice. I’m kind of frustrated with the results tonight, and it’s not because they don’t necessarily deserve to go home, but because I don’t think they got the best opportunity to show who they were. Stupid producers.

Oh good grief. I’d much rather watch Colton for another week than Chikezie. Ugh. And Simon was right but sorta cruel. I don’t think Colton will make a career of singing unless it’s on Broadway. The truth hurts sometimes.
