American Idol 7 Week 9 Results

I predict a girl goes home. But I’d be okay if someone whose last name started with A went home. Just sayin’.

I know I rag on David Archuleta a lot. But here’s the thing. He’s 17. Last year’s winner Jordin Sparks was 17. And I think there is a HUGE difference between them. She had a lot more poise, personality and vocal chops than he does. I just don’t get all the adulation. I know the teenyboppers love him, but I certainly wouldn’t buy his music. Anyway, enough of that. On with the show.

A group massacre of Mariah’s One Sweet Day. Well, parts of it were not as painful as others. Moving on.

Results…Oh great, we’re going with the two different groups scheme. I hate that one.

Jason Castro goes one way and David Cook goes the other. That’s a little scary.
Carly joins Jason. Kristy Lee joins David.

A very bizarre Ford commercial this week.

Elliott Yamin performs. Yay Elliott!

More results…

Syesha joins Jason and Carly. Brooke joins David and Kristy. So we have two Cooks and a Brooke. Ha!

I have to mention the commercial for So You Think You Can Dance, my FAVORITE reality show. Coming soon!!

Oh gawd. The stupid phone call segment. I’ll be pausing and fast forwarding because I HATE this part.

Mariah Carey performs.

More results.

Syesha, Carly and Jason are one group. David Cook, Kristy and Brooke are the other.

David Archuleta comes out. Is Ryan going to pull the pick the group thing? I hate that. David Archuleta is…safe!

David Cook swaps with Syesha.

Ryan tells him to join the group he thinks is safe. He sits on the stage. Good for him. Ryan gestures him toward Carly, Jason and David Cook. They are all…safe!

That means Syesha, Kristy and Brooke are the bottom 3.

Don’t send our Brookie home!!! It’s well past time Kristy left. And Syesha has been in the bottom 3 many times as well.

After a commercial break, we’re back for the final results…

Syesha is safe…safe!

I think that spells doom for Brooke, but you never know.

I think Brooke thinks it’s her.

Brooke is…safe!

Kristy Lee Cook is finally…going home.

She lasted a lot longer than I ever thought she would and she actually deserved to stay there longer than it seemed she should at first because she made some smart song choices. But it’s only going to get harder every week from here on out.

Next week the top 6 take on the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber. I can’t wait for that!
