Day 87: The Artist at Work
I was outside taking pictures of flower after flower today, thinking I’d do something springy, but then after we came in, I saw LG working on this picture and I knew this had to be the photo of the day.
I am so excited that she has started drawing with a purpose instead of just scribbling. And you can actually start to recognize what she’s drawing as well. We’re still working on holding the pencil correctly, but it will come. In the meantime, she draws pictures of herself and her daddy and Melody and sometimes even me. And she’ll tell you a story about it, too, if you ask and have a lot of time. ;)
Taken March 27, 2008.

What a great photo! Those hands convey everything.

I love that moment when they start to draw specific pictures instead of just making marks of color, though I like marks of color too.

oh gosh, the sweet, sweet memories this brings. I have drawing like this from when my son was three - every little scribble, scrawl, and shape meant something and the stories he told were wonderful. great capture. :)
