Project 365 Topic #51: Light

Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on December 15th, 2008 by Karin

The Festival of Lights approaches, and even though we don’t celebrate Hanukkah, I still love the idea of light for the second to last topic of the year since light is something that is common to most religious celebrations. I’m sure you can probably guess what next week’s topic will be, but you’ll have to wait and see next Monday!

Day 349: Moody

Moody

This is my self-drawn self-portrait of my mood of the day. Nothing happened that affects us directly, but stuff that affects people that we know and/or care about. And not the best news. But no one died and no one’s sick. Just choices we might not have made for them if we were in charge of things.

Day 348: Snow Queen

Snow Queen

The photographer getting ready to take a cast photo of this weekend’s “Snow Queen” cast at Herberger Theater in downtown Phoenix. As you can see I was sitting right behind where the photographer set up after the show. My goddaughter (The Princess) was a leaf and her older sister (Social Butterfly) was a snowflake. They were beautiful. The Princess hasn’t looked tiny to me since LG was born, but she’s one of the (if not the) youngest performers this year and she looked so tiny (and delightfully adorable) on stage. SB, on the other hand, always looks tall and slim, but she was one of the two “biggest” snowflakes and she looked huge compared to the other snowflakes (but very graceful and beautiful). It was quite interesting to see them in comparison to the other dancers. They danced beautifully and I’m sure they made their mama cry every time, and I have to admit my eyes got a little misty, too! (By the way, this was a cell phone pic, so not the best, but you get the idea.)

Day 345: Lazy Frog

Lazy Frog

My cousin (who lives on Martha’s Vineyard) sent LG this t-shirt for her birthday. It’s from a shop owned by some of her friends called “The Lazy Frog”. If you look closely and you know very much about the geography of the East Coast, you’ll see that the lazy frog is actually outline of the island itself. LG loves the shirt, by the way!

It’s almost the end of the year, almost the end of this Project 365, so it’s time to show us who you are! Or at least a glimpse of who you are. Doesn’t have be your whole self – it can just be a part of yourself. Or whatever way you want to show who you are. But, this week it’s all about you!
