365 Days of Grace: Day 150 (Desert Towers)
Posted in 365 Days of Grace on May 30th, 2009 by KarinI finally got to get out and take some photos today! We took a trip to the Desert Botanical Garden to see the Chihuly art glass exhibit, as well as the Spring Butterfly exhibit. So, no more archives for awhile at least. ;)
This is the first glass sculpture you see when you walk into the garden, and I love how it fits in so well with the plants - almost looks like a plant itself!

365 Days of Grace: Day 145 (Memorial Day)
Posted in 365 Days of Grace on May 25th, 2009 by KarinThe Soldier It is the soldier, not the minister, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has give us freedom to protest.
It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the soldier, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.
It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.

365 Days of Grace: Day 142 (Rainy Day)
Posted in 365 Days of Grace on May 22nd, 2009 by KarinIt was a lovely rainy, overcast day around here. It didn’t even make it to 80 degrees (rare for May in Phoenix) and we never turned on the A/C. I would have loved to have just read my book all day, but alas, there were obligations to deal with. I did get to read a little bit, though!
