2008 Project 365 Retrospective

I’m not going to say Project 365 is easy because it isn’t. Taking a photograph every single day is hard sometimes. And the quality of photos on certain days proves it. However, I will say, as I’ve said before, that it’s totally worth it to have that photographic representation of a year in our lives. I’ll never regret participating in it, and I’m sure I’ll do it again another year, but I definitely am looking forward to the break!

Thanks to all of you who participated and inspired me. I’m sorry I didn’t keep up with my weekly linky love posts - maybe I’ll start those again. Thanks to all of you who played along with my weekly topics - I loved seeing your interpretations. Here’s to another year of great photos and community - no matter whether it’s Project 365 or not! Happy new year!

Rose

Finally, the last day of the year! It seems fitting to end it with a photo of a flower - one of my favorite things to photography (next to LG, of course).

Where There's Smoke There's Fire

A city bus caught fire on the freeway today. We could see the smoke (and the television helicopters) from our yard. (The bus had no passengers at the time.)

Plans for the New Year

Posted in 365 Days of Grace on December 29th, 2008 by Karin

I’ve enjoyed this year’s Project 365, but I’m ready for a break. On the other hand, I don’t want to stop taking pictures and posting on a regular basis, so I am going to continue to do something. It’ll just be something different this next year!

I found an idea on another blog called “365 Days of Grace in Small Things”. So, my goal for the new year is to post photos every day of things that grace my life. I’m not going to put pressure on myself to take new photos every day, but I do want to post every day. I think taking away the pressure of remembering to take a photo every single day will be a nice break, and it will give me a chance to be more selective in my photography. I’m also going to try and do word posts on my regular blog in the same theme.

The world is a little scary and stressful right now, so I think it’s the perfect time to find grace in small things. Feel free to join me if you’re so inspired!

Day 363: When I Look to the Sky

Trees

Tomorrow would be my mom’s 78th birthday if she was still with us. We visited the cemetery today since Mike will be working tomorrow and it’s not in the best part of town. For some reason, the sky always seems bluer there. And closer. And the sun shines a little brighter.

Day 362: Frozen

Frozen

This sheet of ice was on top of LG’s water table this morning. I think it was a bit cold last night!
