Day 326: Future Computer Geek

Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on November 21st, 2008 by Karin

My Future Computer Geek

LG playing a computer game this afternoon. What amazes me the most is how much she has learned just from watching me. All I really ever taught her was how to move and click the mouse and what to do in the game. The rest she’s learned by observation.

Day 323: Long Horns

Long Horns

I was out doing a little shopping with my MIL and SIL today and on the way back to my MIL’s house, we passed these Longhorn cattle, so LG and I stopped on the way home to take a photo. I was a little surprised to see longhorns in the city limits, but then again, I know there are emus and ostriches in the city as well, so I guess it’s not that strange!

Project 365 Topic #47 - Animal, Vegetable or Mineral

Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on November 17th, 2008 by Karin

Remember the old game “animal, vegetable or mineral”? Did you know it is a variant on 20 Questions? Or that it comes from Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance? I didn’t know either of those things, but I just learned them when I googled.

Did you realize that there are only five topics left for the year after this week? Hard to believe the year is drawing to a close. And rapidly. Anyway, I wanted to have a pretty wide open topic this week and you can’t get much more open than this I think. I’m leaving it up to you to interpret it however you choose. So have fun!

Day 319: Photography By Mike

Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on November 14th, 2008 by Karin

As I was getting ready to go outside to walk my 10 laps (1.5 miles) around the front acre, I realized I hadn’t taken any photos today and since I needed to get going on my laps before the sun went down, I asked Mike to take some pictures for me. I couldn’t decide which one to post, so I’m posting three. The black and white is the one I asked him to take and the other two are the ones he came up with on his own. By the way, I only got 7 laps in before it got too dark to see, which is a little over a mile.
