Day 334: Birthday Party!
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on November 29th, 2008 by KarinAlthough LG’s birthday is not until Tuesday, today is the day we celebrated her birthday with family and friends (in spite of the fact that she was running a fever in the wee hours of the morning…*sigh*)…
Our beautiful girl getting ready to blow out her candles, while we sing a different version of “Happy Birthday” because for some reason she does NOT like the standard version. (And that is putting it mildly.)
And her Lightning McQueen cake - cake baked and frosting made by Mommy; decorated by Daddy.
Bonus shot of her finished rearranged room…

Day 332: Thanksgiving
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on November 27th, 2008 by KarinI’m thankful for LG and Mike (whose arm you can see). Here she’s in Grandma’s backyard.
I’m thankful for all the wonderful rain we got this week.
And I’m thankful we were able to redo her room for her birthday coming up! Now you can see what the bed looks like completed.

Project 365 Topic #48 - Thanksgiving
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on November 24th, 2008 by KarinWe are celebrating Thanksgiving this week in the United States, so that seemed to be the logical topic to me!
Day 328: Canopy!
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on November 23rd, 2008 by KarinMike and I finished the canopy for LG’s new/old bed today. It’s new because Mike built a new canopy frame and is going to paint it. It’s old because it’s the bed that I got when I turned 4.

Day 327: My Beloved Helper
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on November 22nd, 2008 by KarinThis is one of those last-minute photos. The ones when you realize you haven’t taken a photo all day and you grab the camera just to take a picture of something. Of course, this something is my beloved helper hard at work helping me with the canopy of LG’s new/old bed. We don’t have a pattern so we’re winging it. And when winging cutting and measurements, I rely on my partner!
After all that brain work, he had to go outside and do some physical labor. So he was outside moving dirt (in the middle of the night - he’s so weird sometimes) and the dog started barking at something. It was a great horned owl. This is a horrible photo, but how often do you see a Great Horned Owl just sitting on your neighbor’s fence? Not too often for us at least, because the last time I remember seeing an owl around our property was before we built the house and we’ve lived here over 5 years now. So a rarity.
I even left the red eye because I thought it gave him (her?) a more menacing look. Melody (the dog) liked the owl about as much as she likes the hawks that fly around. Which is not too much.
