Project 365 Topic #43: Autumn
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on October 20th, 2008 by KarinI can wait no longer. And also, we are supposed to be going up north for some real fall this weekend, so it’s time! Go ahead. Show me autumn where you are. Make me jealous. I can take it!
Day 293: Birthday Present
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on October 19th, 2008 by KarinMike took LG to the pottery store and this is what she made me for my birthday. He helped with most of the writing, but she did the “MOM” herself. :) Then she took the paints and mixed them all together which gave it the camouflage type look on the top. I think it may be my very favorite birthday gift ever. :)

Day 292: Wee Toad
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on October 18th, 2008 by KarinI was planning on doing a dictionary definition picture today, but sometimes things don’t work out the way you expect. Mike found this little infant Desert Horned Toad (or Horny Toad) when he was watering, and how could I resist photographing such a cute little guy? I couldn’t decide with picture to post, so I chose two of them. I edited the color on both of them a little differently in iPhoto. After the impromptu photo shoot, the little guy (or gal?) was released back into the wild to find his “Mommy and Daddy” as LG likes to say.

Day 291: White Horse
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on October 17th, 2008 by KarinIt was a busy day, so no dictionary word again. We got up and went to collect LG from her grandparents’ house where she spent the night so I could go to the concert last night. Then she and I went shopping with her Grandma for a little while. Then after we all got home, Mike took us to two plant nurseries to get two trees and some flowers to plant. Hurray for fall planting season! And hurray for early birthday presents, too. ;) More pics if you click through.

Day 290: Concert
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on October 16th, 2008 by KarinNo dictionary words today and not even a decent picture, but it’s meaningful to me. This is a cell phone picture of Amy Grant on the first night of her tour here in Phoenix. I was very blessed by my friends who managed to get free tickets to the concert. I often say that Amy Grant is who I want to be when I grow up. She’s actually only 6 years older than I am, but I truly admire her, not only as a performer but as a songwriter. I always feel unbelievably blessed when I am able to see her in concert. And it was a great concert!

Day 289: Shoe
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on October 15th, 2008 by KarinToday’s word was shoe. LG has these cute little Disney Princess light-up shoes. I tried to get a picture of her wearing them with the lights going, but when I finally got the chance to look at them tonight, they were all way too blurry, so I took a picture of just the shoe. And it came out way too yellow. So, today was not a good picture day unfortunately, but at least there’s a picture, right?

Day 288: Chocolate
Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on October 14th, 2008 by KarinMy word today was chocolate. My birthday cake will be Pioneer Woman’s “Best Chocolate Sheetcake Ever”. I bought the cocoa we use since we were almost out of it. If you’ll notice it says it’s 99.7% caffeine free. I can’t have chocolate because of the caffeine, but a friend of mine (bless him) found this and told me about it. It has been a life saver when I’m craving chocolate!
