Mike got an early morning phone call from his mom telling him that he was an uncle for the 5th time. I, of course, took the opportunity to go shopping for a baby gift! The giraffe, however, is for his big sister, who I thought might need a little attention, too.

I ordered LG an Olympics t-shirt and pin. The pin arrived, but the shirt won’t arrive until after the Olympics. She loves the panda bear and the rings on the pin.
Hopefully, after the Olympics are over, I’ll manage to be a little more creative with my photos again!

Someone’s dad brought her this playhouse (which he got free as a friend was giving it away). Someone loves it! Someone’s dad thinks that it should stay in the house. Someone’s mom (that would be me) has vetoed that, although it’s staying inside for the time being until the Monsoon season is mostly over. And until we figure out where we’re going to put it outside.

To get lightning shots, I set the camera (on tripod) on a 15 second exposure and click and hope that at some point when the shutter is open, there is lightning. For this one, I tweaked the contrast and brightness to make it look more like what we saw, since long exposures let in a lot more light. Too bad we didn’t get any rain here, though!
