Day 220: Gentle Creature

This is one of the pair of desert horned lizards we see around our property. Mike, being a boy, likes to pick them up and hold them and show them to LG. Really, they’re good little lizards. They eat ants. They’re pretty gentle creatures. They can hiss and threaten to bite and they can even squirt blood from their eyes. But this one was very calm in Mike’s hand. The only indication that he might be nervous or frightened was his mouth being opened showing us that cute little lizard tongue. But, in general a sweet little guy (or girl?). And since there are tons of ants around, I’m happy for them to hang out and eat them up!
