Day 204: She’ll Dance to the Music

Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on July 22nd, 2008 by Karin

She'll Dance to the Music

We went to get LG’s dance shoes for her dance class that will start in a couple of weeks. She’s really excited this time because her best little friend is going to be in the class with her, which gives me confidence that this class will be much more successful than those in the past. She’s older and she’ll have a friend with her. I think that’s a recipe for success! By the way, if you look closely, you can see our reflections in her tap shoes.

Day 203: Make Your Own Kind of Music

Make Your Own Kind of Music

LG gave an impromptu concert for her imaginary friends this afternoon. First she moved all the chairs she could get her hands on into audience configuration and then she made her own kind of music.

And as a bonus, because I’ve been wanting to try flickr’s video hosting, here’s a clip of the video I took of the impromptu concert if you’re interested in watching.

Project 365 Topic #30: Music

Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on July 21st, 2008 by Karin

What is music to you? Is it notes on a page? Or the sound of the wind rustling the leaves? Or the voice of someone you love? Is it the piano or the drums? Can music be something you see with your eyes or is it just something you hear with your ears? Can you take pictures of music? Can your pictures make us hear what you hear? Or maybe your pictures can show us what you see when you hear music. Or tell us what music you think of when you see something through your lens. Or maybe you have totally different ideas about how to take pictures of music. But that’s your challenge this week!

Day 202: The Clouds Make Me Think of Angels

Clouds

My mom loved clouds. She would draw them, paint them, take photos of them. And I like to think on cloudy days that she is dancing across them, looking down at me looking up at her. That somehow we’re connected by those clouds.

Day 201: Sofas Are for Parking

Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on July 19th, 2008 by Karin

Sofas Are for Parking

LG watched Cars for the first time today, and a few minutes into it, she ran into her room to get her Cars toys and continued to play with them long after the movie ended. The sofa seemed to make a good parking lot.

Puppetry

Mike took this shot of LG playing with the puppets with one of our awesome teen helpers at VBS. Tomorrow (Thursday) is the last day of VBS, so hopefully life will get back to normal again!
