Project 365 Topic #12: Green

Posted in Project 365 Topics on March 17th, 2008 by Karin

This week is a trifecta of important days. Today is, of course, St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday is Easter and Thursday is the first day of Spring (not to mention Holy Week).

I’m going to save Spring for another week, so this week’s topic (should you choose to use it) is: Green! What else could a (part) Irish girl choose after all? And feel free to throw in any Easter type photos you want to as well!

Day 76: Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday

Holy Week has begun. It’s going to be a long busy week, but (hopefully) worth it!

Breakfast on the Porch

The morning weather is now warm enough to enjoy breakfast on the front porch again.

Day 74: Butterfly

Butterfly

We went to the Desert Botanical Garden today to get some plants from the Spring Plant Sale and to visit the Butterfly Pavilion. Click here for more shots from our visit.

And the magical mystery bud has revealed itself to be a Double Daffodil. It’s a little worse for wear after a very VERY windy day around here, but it’s only fair to show you the end result of the bud. :)

Day 73: Toy Tractor (and a Magical Mystery Bud Update)

Tractor

I haven’t been doing so well with my theme this week because I’ve been too distracted by the flowers, but hopefully this makes up for it a little bit. Mike got this tractor and several other toys for LG at the church rummage sale for $2. Not a bad deal even if it did have a dent in the roof. ;)

And here’s the latest photo of the magical mystery bud.

Day 72: My Birthday Boy

Birthday Boy

Today was my dear hubby’s birthday, so it’s only fitting that he should be my picture of the day.

But I did have some great fun in the garden today. There was just enough cloud cover to diffuse the light nicely and allow me to get some nice shots of my flowers. So here’s your bonus mosaic of nature’s palette:

Day 71: Magical Mystery Bud

Mystery Bud

I’m drawn to the garden a lot these days. Soon enough it will be hot and the flowers will give up until it cools off around October, so I’m enjoying it while I can. This is one of my bulbs. I’m not sure what kind of flower it is, so it’s kind of fun every morning to go out and see how it’s changed since the day before. I can’t wait to see what it is!

Day 70: Service Call

Posted in Project 365+1 2008 on March 10th, 2008 by Karin

Service Call

This is pretty much the most exciting thing that happened today - a visit from the service repairman to find out why the riding lawn mower decided to stop working the other day. It was a loose wire to the battery, so not a big deal, which is a good thing since we’ve got an acre of weeds that needs to be mowed!

Project 365 Topic #11: Transportation

Posted in Project 365 Topics on March 10th, 2008 by Karin

I got really ambitious several weeks ago and planned out the weekly topics for the rest of the year. A lot of them revolve around whatever holidays are happening during that week, but there are not (unfortunately for me) holidays every week that are conducive to being a weekly theme. So, I had to fill in the blanks the best I could and some themes I like better than others.

However, those of you who have participated in the weekly themes have never failed to amaze me with what you come up with for the theme. You inspire me to look harder at the world around me. I’m sure that this week’s theme, “Transportation”, will be no different should you choose to use it. I await your interpretations!
