Project 365 Topic #13: Spring

Posted in Project 365 Topics on March 24th, 2008 by Karin

The first day of Spring was actually last week, but there was too much going on last week to give Spring its due, so Spring is getting a week all to itself. Hopefully most of you are seeing the signs of Spring wherever you are, and if not, well, there’s more than one meaning for the word spring! Here the temperature is supposed to reach a very warm (for March) 90 degrees today, so Spring is in full swing here!

Day 83: Quiet Moment

Contemplative

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. It began with the egg hunt at church yesterday morning. Then last night, Mike and I took part in the Easter Vigil service (he playing piano and I singing in the choir) which lasted over 3 hours. I got home to relieve the babysitter around 11 p.m. (Mike still had to go on to his band gig.) Needless to say, I was exhausted. We got up this morning, and went back to church for Easter morning mass. Then off to Mike’s parents’ house for Easter dinner with the family, followed by an egg hunt for the kiddos and some bubble time. We came home and LG hunted some more eggs, then Daddy assembled her all-terrain tricycle which the Easter Bunny kindly left for her since she has outgrown her other tricycle. It was a good, yet tiring, weekend.

Here she has a quiet moment during bubble time at Grandma’s house.

After

Today LG got her first experience dyeing Easter eggs. Her reaction? “This is so much fun!”

My site was down last night because of maintenance by the hosting company, so I was not able to post this then, so I post-dated it.

Day 80: Ever-Changing

Ever Changing

It’s almost impossible these days to get Little Girl to be still long enough to get a good closeup. But I do like to document the ever-changing color of her beautiful eyes.

Day 79: First Rose of Spring

First Rose

Something you may or may not know about me is that I am a huge fan of Amy Grant. Back in 1999, the Amy Grant miniature rosebush was introduced, and ever since then I’ve wanted one. But the time hasn’t been right to get one until this year (finally!). It arrived a few weeks ago and Mike planted it and I’ve been watching as a rose bud appeared and started to open and today you see it in all its glory…the first rose of Spring.

Day 78: Green Dress

Green Dress

LG loves her Melody dog and Melody loves her Little Girl. She doesn’t look too sure about the hugging thing in this picture, though. I’d love to know what she’s thinking.

Day 77: Green Shoes

One Green Shoe

Personally, I’m not really a big fan of Crocs, but I don’t mind her wearing them while puttering around outside in the dirt - they’re easy to clean. Melody seems to like them, too, as evidenced by the teeth marks. ;) I also love the fact that there’s a little orange tractor in the picture so we got the green and the orange in for today!

And I would be remiss if I didn’t say…

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
