Day 45: A Very Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine's Day Mosaic

We had a wonderful day. Mike had the day off from all his jobs and so the three of us had a fun relaxing day hanging out together. We went for a long walk in the morning and to a couple of plant nurseries in the afternoon. Then we had a really nice dinner and some yummy chocolate cake (made with caffeine free cocoa). This montage is some of the scenes from our day. And the Arizona flag is in there because February 14 is also Arizona’s statehood day - 96 years old. Hope you all had a wonderful day with those you love!

Day 44: Peek-a-Roo!

Peek a Roo

Tonight we went to Outback Steakhouse for a pre-Valentine’s Day dinner. We are not crazy enough to try and go out on the actual day because restaurants are nutso. Much better to go out a different day and have dinner at home on the actual holiday.

Here LG and Mike are playing peek-a-boo, but at Outback, I’m sure they’d call it “peek-a-roo”. I hate using the flash, but the restaurant was very dark, so I didn’t have much choice.

Tonight was a big night for LG. She ordered her entree all by herself and then actually asked the waitress for a refill on her chocolate milk. I had to remind her to say please, but she said it immediately. I can’t believe my little girl is big enough to order her own food at a restaurant. Wow.

Day 42: Angel of the Morning

Angel of the Morning

This was the first thing I saw this morning when I woke up. Mike bought this angel for me many years ago on impulse (something he doesn’t do all that often) because he knows how much I love angels, and it’s always hung in my bedroom so I could see it every day. I love how the line of sunlight gives it a golden glow and how it casts a shadow on the wall. I guess there was just something magical about it this morning and I was compelled to grab the camera and take a picture.

Project 365 Topic #7: Hearts

You had to know it was coming! Thursday is Valentine’s Day, of course, so what other topic could there be this week besides hearts and love? Have a lovely Valentine week!

Day 41: Be Forgiven Why

Why Be Forgiven

This is sort of a cop-out photo, but the morning/afternoon was busy and my eye is hurting from apparently getting concrete dust in it the other day, so I didn’t really feel too much like looking through the lens today.

This is the screen from our religious education program showing the songs that Marlene and I sung today. Marlene’s song is a tearjerker about a little girl who was witnessing the crucifixion (and the artist is actually Nichole Nordeman - I somehow managed to cut off the last letter of her name in my photo).

Day 40: Dotted Swiss

Dotted Swiss

This cactus is Opuntia microdasys, also known as Bunny Ear Cactus or Polka Dot Cactus, but I like to call it “dotted swiss” because that is what it reminds me of. The brown spots are not supposed to be there, but I think they might be because of the cold weather we’ve had lately.

Day 39: Bug’s Eye View

Bug's Eye View

This picture has all kinds of things going on in it. There are the green weeds that have been flourishing with all the rain we’ve gotten this winter. There’s the dead weed reaching up toward the sky. And there’s even a little brown Noble Fir twig left over from when my husband took the Christmas tree out of the house.

Day 38: Got Mud?

Want Some Mud?

She’s got mud all over her. She got that from her dad, because you’d never have seen me with mud all over my clothes when I was little! ;)
