Frozen in Time

It was an overcast day and seemed to be the perfect time to make some chili, so that is what I did!

I had a hard time choosing one shot from the gazillion shots I took of them today, but Mike liked this one, so that’s what I went with. We had fun - except for the part when I nearly got them with the tripod when we were walking. Oops. I told them this pose was symbolic of the fact that they have to go in opposite directions for awhile. And then they pouted at me.

Today I got to really stretch myself as a photographer. I’m not a “real” photographer by any stretch of the imagination - it is just a beloved hobby that started after Little Girl was born - but it is definitely something I enjoy doing. My friend Rochelle asked me to come take some pics of her boyfriend and some of his friends in exchange for a future free lunch (hence the title of this post). I really appreciate them asking me and giving me a chance to take pictures of other people for a change!

I learned two things today. First, I have a lot to learn. Second, I really love taking pictures of kids (although I’m sure LG will always be my most favorite subject!). I totally lost track of time when I started taking pictures of the little one. Trying to get that elusive “perfect shot” is addictive. I did get one of her that I really love, but I don’t have permission to show her face on this here blog, so you’re stuck with this one. This sweetie is the boyfriend’s nine month old goddaughter.

Little Girl did not want to sit still and get her picture taken this morning, so we did what any sane parent would do. We bribed her with chocolate. Here she is asking for more “koklet”.
